Theme Thursdays! Water

Welp, I know it's late on Thursday, but here I am.  I have been working on a report all evening and now I am free!!!!  ...but it's time for bed.  Gotta get up early and go to work so this is a sad little post.  Well, we have seen a lot of water falling from the sky this week.  That and the water running from the faucets is the only water I've been near and I haven't tried to take any shots of that yet.

I thought this was neat... maybe :0)...

Check out the other entries over here:

Here are a couple other shots that I took from the backseat of the car on my way to WV last week.  I just like them. ;)

This one is just so WV, from the rolling hills right down to the bridge.  I love it!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Well, this week flew by.  I can't believe that March is practically over!  I had wanted to do some really creative shots for this weeks hunt, but we had some unexpected travels to do so I just pulled these pictures together today.  I really want one day to work throughout my week like I'm supposed to, but a few of these are from my archives... although they are all pretty recent.  Anyhoo, I love seeing what other peoples interpretations of the items are as well.

1. Decay
I actually did take this picture this week on the way to WV.  Those big white dots that you see are the raindrops on the car window.

2. Group of 3

I took these last weekend, but I couldn't find any groups of 3 that I liked in my photos.

3. Things that make you go Hmmm

I recently visited a new campus that the school I work for purchased this was inside.  The building used to be a Philips headquarters.  I just thought this would turn out to be a semi neat picture... we were hoping none of the phones would start to ring! :0)

4. In the Kitchen

This was taken this week as well.  It's Emma with my Papaw at my Granparent's house in their kitchen.  They were having a good time :0)  She loves her Great Papaw!

5. Me Time

Well, I know this is strange, but this weekend I spent a laaaaaarge amount of my "me time" (meaning when Emma's alseep) creating a template and a title for my blog (I have another blog called All things).  Turns out the template I made is for Word press.  Anyhoo,  I couldn't use it, but this is how I spent my me time this week :0).

Thanks for looking, please check out Ashley Sisk's link up here:

BTW, I don't know what's wrong with this post, but the photos won't show up.  If you click on the small squares they will pop up.  I am trying to fix it though.

Slice of Life - I heart faces

My little Emma loves her Weeble Wobble playhouse. This is a slice of my life!

My very own template- even if it is useless LOL

Ok, I'm extremely irritated... well, not extremely, but somewhat. I wanted so terribly to learn how to create my own blogger template so I googled it. I am "google" queen. I love google, honestly don't know what I did before it was created. Anyhoo, so I found this tutorial on how to create one. I spent several hours last night and a few this morning working on my very first template... I finished and was semi happy with my ending product. It needs a few tweaking here and there and it is missing a few things but for the most part I'm finished. So I go to try and put it in my "test blog" to see if it works... well I then found out that it was a word press tutorial, not a blogger tutorial. So... I wasted a lot of time. Here it is, I did learn a lot about Gimp while doing this so it wasn't a complete waste, but I hate not to use it after all that time so I just thought I'd put it here in my post LOL.

Theme Thursday - Active and some other things

I'm linking up with Nicole @ Another Day Another Diaper and Jennifer @ A Beautiful Life for Theme Thursday.  This week the theme is "Active" so here it is:

This picture is from a few weekends ago when I took Emma to the park.  She had a blast going down the slide... Oh look, theres that outfit she had on in last weeks theme LOL... I like it... can you tell?

Well we made a quick trip to WV this week and here is a picture that I took on the way.  I can't believe how blue her eyes look.  I didn't touch them up at all.  The picture was a little blown out... well it still is, so I made it a bit darker and softened the color a bit them used the soft focus setting in Picasa 3 and that's it.
I love how it turned out, but I guess it is still a lot blown out actually...

My Monday

Today was Monday... that says it all. I was going to try and do the scavenger hunt Sunday, but I just didn't get the shots and I just really don't have a lot of extra time to spend on it so I will pick it back up next Sunday. This morning I found out that my Mamaw passed away. My Papaw died last month and they really didn't think that Mamaw would last as long as she did. They both went down hill very fast. I know they are having a Heavenly reunion right now so I am very happy for them. Sad for those they left behind, but we will see them again! Anyhoo, I will be traveling to WV for the funeral - That's where I'm from. That was today.

Yesterday I snapped some shots of Emma outside. Here are a few:

Thanks for looking, I may be mia for a few days and though I know I have very few followers lol... I just thought I'd tell you guys that I will be back!

Theme Thursday

Okay, this is sooo... late!  I've been busy this week but I still wanted to link up.

This Picture is for Jump:
This is from a couple of weeks ago when we went to the Bounce house.  You can barely tell she was jumping though.
It can also be my green picture for St. Patties day.

If you want to link up to Theme Thursdays you can here:

Busy Busy Busy

I'm so tired! I have been working and studying all week long. I am so happy that Saturday is on it's way and it looks like beautiful weather is on it's way as well! This is short and sweet, but here are some pictures that I took on the way to church last night. It's fun to take pictures out the back window :0).

I am really learning about aperture, shutter speed and iso and if I can just remember to change stuff before I take the pictures they would be better :0).  When you're in the car you have to take the picture right the first time.  I can't wait until I get to just take a trip for photography!  FUN :0)

Thanks for looking!!!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - Sun Flare

I am really hoping that this qualifies as sunflare.  I looked it up and I noticed that most pictures have dots on them, but I am entering this one anyhow :0).

Hop over and see more entries or enter yourself:

Today was a good day.  Went to church and rested in the afternoon, then went to church this evening.  We went out to McDonalds afterwards with some friends.  It was nice to hang out and talk for a bit.  On a weird note... have you ever wanted to be friends with someone, but never really knew how it was going to be each time you spoke to them?  I am in that position right now.  I feel like we could be the best of friends and I think we both need the friendship, but I never really know how to be her friend... It's strange.  She's not a difficult person... just unpredictable.  I refuse to stop trying, it's just... odd.  Maybe it's me.

Well, here are a few shots that I took on the 6th.  I am loving the editing aspect of photography.  It's just so neat that I can make a picture look the way I want it to.  I never realized how much editing is done in photography.  I really like sooc shots for portraits though.  Here they are:

If any of you professionals happen to stop by and see this post... can you please tell me:
1. Did you take photography classes?
2. If you did take classes would you recommend a beginner looking to be a professional take classes?
3. If you didn't take classes how did you get started?

- any info is welcomed with open ears/eyes!  I would love for photography to supplement my income, but I don't know if I should take classes or what.

Thanks!!!

Sunday Scavenger Hunt

Well, I have to admit, I didn't take this picture this week, but I forgot about the list and well, this is all I can find that fits the first item.
1. Vanishing Point

2. Square Crop

This one isn't great, when I took it I was really hoping I could crop it down to one flower or so, but I couldn't.

3. Under
Well, this isn't really under, but it's close :0)

4.Welcome to the Jungle ( please say hello to my Monkey)

She was Jumping up and down on the chair.

5. Calm
I thought the Jelly Fish at the aquarium were calming anyway.

Thanks for checking my photos out!  I love followers so feel free!!!

If you are stopping by from somewhere else please check out other photos or link up with us here:

Paper Heart Photo Challenge - Peaceful

Well, I really wanted to enter this and since my life is anything but peaceful... seriously!  I know you mom's know what I'm saying!  I have a 19 mth old... it is only peaceful when she is asleep around here. ;0)  I love the wild and craziness though!  Wouldn't change it for the world.  So anyhoo, this is the only shot that I can find in all the photos that I have taken that I think is the slightest bit peaceful so I will share it again today even though I know it's on yesterday's post as well :0).

Thanks for looking!!! :0)

The Aquarium

Well, I have to say that I am a little disappointed in how my photos worked out today.  I took over 300, which to me is probably the most I've taken on one day :0).  Just a handful actually turned out.  I've learned that even if a picture looks good on the back of the camera... doesn't AT ALL mean that it will be a good picture... :0)  I have a lot to learn, but I think it was mostly my lens.  The aquarium was dark and I had my ISO on 1600, my focus was on al servo... I still haven't learned what I need to about white balance, but don't know that it would have made any difference.  Here are a few for your viewing pleasure... or displeasure ;0).
